Here’s a Sneak Peek Inside
The Silly Adventures of Petunia & Herman the Worm
It was an exciting day for Mr. Wilson, who was carefully inspecting the tomato plants he had been growing. He was looking at one tomato growing on his plants. This greenish-yellow tomato was very, very big. It was the biggest tomato Mr. Wilson had ever grown and was on a plant that was on the very edge of the hill. Mr. Wilson carefully lifted the leaves of the tomato plant and looked at his prize tomato. His mouth began to feel as though he could taste how wonderful this tomato would be when it was ripe.
Mr. Wilson took his glasses out of his shirt pocket and put them on. He then looked down into the beautiful wide Valley below. He recalled that as a young boy, he and his friends would slide down the hill during the winter snow on sleds, and during the summer they would use a big piece of a cardboard box to slide down the hill on the grass. That was really fun.
It was almost time for Sunday dinner, so Mr. Wilson left his garden and headed for his house, still thinking about that prize tomato. Mr. Wilson didn’t know what was happening inside this prize tomato. Two large tomato worms were busy at work, eating away, and they did not know that another worm was there. When they both took a great big bite, each of them bit the other worm!
