Award-winning Children’s Book Author

Sam Baker

Sam Baker was over 90 years old when he wrote his first children’s book. Having struggled with reading as a child, he became a lifelong advocate for literacy, believing that the love of reading must begin early. His books reflect that commitment—stories crafted so that any child could easily read and enjoy them.

Sam’s remarkable life extended far beyond his writing. A World War II veteran and Marine, he built his career on the principles of teamwork, kindness, and education. Even in his later years, he remained a strong advocate for peace and understanding. Sam passed away in 2025 at the age of 102, but his values live on through the stories he left behind.
